Named after a cocktail, the newest bar-restaurant on the increasingly hip pedestrian strip of Raday utca is a friendly spot to find an intimate drink without leaving the party zone. Mojito offers decent salads, soups, chicken, turkey and steaks, prepared in standard Hungarian style. You probably wouldn’t come here just for food. The menu lists 35 cocktails, including the namesake, a concoction based around lime, rum and bitters. The gallery space lends an airy feel to the medium-sized room. Tasteful jazz and world music is played at bearable levels.

Vik Muniz
The Brazilian photographer Vik Muniz records his work as an artist. His unusual images capture him sketching the Mona Lisa in strawberry jam, depicting street children with sugar, painting Marilyn Monroe in chocolate or using such materials as garbage, barb-wire and spices to re-enact a famous work from art history. After getting messy, he documents his work for posterity with a photo. The resulting work becomes an engaging exercise in recognition for the viewer.

Try This On
With the excitement befitting a new spring wardrobe, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts presents ‘Try This On’, five simultaneous shows that address the ways in which artists investigate social behaviour and self-presentation. In other words, it’s an exhibition about clothes and make-up. The programme is highlighted by works and installations by Pierre et Gilles, an artist team who use costumes and lighting to exaggerate the feelings of their photographs. Rounding out the show are thematic pieces by Nikki S Lee, Laylah Ali, Cameron Jamie and the duo Andrea Robbins and Max Becher.

Saturdays @ the Odeon
The Odeon goes upmarket with an extra special club night offering for Saturdays. Taking advantage of the overspill from the nearby POD complex, the Odeon now lays on four areas to get you dancing, chill you out, assault your ear drums and provide that vital somewhere to get a drink. The DJs change every week but regular sounds will be down to the lovely Carlito with a gentle blend of mellow soul and ghetto grooves.

Clarke House Holiday Tours
In the 1850s Christmas customs were beginning to evolve throughout the nation, including appearances by Santa Claus. Houses were decorated with strings of cranberries, clove-studded oranges scented the air and gold-painted walnuts adorned tables and mantelpieces. The Clarke House, decorated for the holidays 1850s-style, offers special tours. Included are holiday trips to the neighbouring Glessner House Museum, built of pink granite and also located in the Prairie Avenue Historic District. Prepaid reservations required and complimentary cider and cookies served.

Rayo Vallecano vs Racing de Santander
Little ‘Rayito’ continue their unprecedented hob-nobbing with mightier clubs as the season progresses. A shaky spell on the October-November cusp seems to have been resolved and the red-stripe beer-can lookalikes have gone from strength to strength, continuing as potential UEFA candidates. Visitors Racing are a struggling but nevertheless useful outfit always likely to cause an upset, especially away from home when logic points to three home points. Bad weather may help the northern side’s cause and earn them a point but Rayo are finding the net with ease lately.

Kandinsky
This exhibition documents the work of Wassily Kandinsky between 1896 and 1921. It demonstrates the influences of two cities on his career – Munich, where Kandinsky became one of the leading figures of the Blaue Reiter group, and Moscow, where he continued along the path towards total abstraction and total colour. Over 100 paintings, watercolours and etchings are on display, many on loan from the State Museum of St Petersburg and the Pushkin Museum in Moscow.

Puccelini
A major Italian bistro contender has popped up in the otherwise bleak semi-industrial Prague district of Holesovice. Puccelini, adorned throughout with music scores and lamps hidden inside trumpets, serves up fine pizzas from a traditional wood-fired brick oven. But its starters, such as baked, stuffed aborigines and mozzarella potato thyme soup are just as impressive. Linguine with calamari is a typical entrée, a thoughtful wine list includes a delectable Barolo and the tiramisu is a generous handmade wonder.
